The heat does not let up and it will be like that for a long time, even for at least another 7-8 days. But that’s not all: the weather conditions will worsen even more due to the advance of a river of hot subtropical air, coming from the heart of the Sahara desert, directly over the center-south and the larger islands.
In short, the heat, which is already really heavy, will intensify even more in the coming days. Temperatures could reach exceptional values, even historical ones, in some parts of the South and on the larger islands. In fact, several historical records from the past could shake between Wednesday 19 and Tuesday 25: in these six days the heat will be very strong, with temperatures that risk exceeding 44-45°C in various inland locations, far from the sea, in Puglia, Basilicata, Calabria, Sicily, Sardinia.
EXTREME ISOTHERMAL AT HIGH ALTITUDE
This subtropical air mass, now in the final stretch, will be characterized by temperatures at high altitudes (about 1600 meters) close to 27-28°C. Talk about exaggerated temperatures for that altitude! Logically, these values are reflected in a short time in the ground, where the mercury column easily exceeds ai 40-41°C especially in areas far from the sea.
STARTING NEXT WEEK EXAGER
As if that wasn’t enough, the temperature is likely to rise even more between July 24 and 25! At the beginning of next week the sensational isotherm could break into the center-south and the larger islands +30°C at 1600 meters. This is just a prediction for now, but not entirely far-fetched.
Under these conditions, it is likely that the ground temperature will reach 46-47°C in the internal sectors of the south, while on the coasts we would have temperatures around 35-40°C with high humidity levels.
HAIL, THUNDERSTORMS, COOL AIR IS COMING?
Early next week could be the final culmination of this very long African heat wave. After July 25 the hypothesis of a general refreshment over all of Italy seems to be strengthened thanks to the advance of a fresh Atlantic front.
This disturbance could end much of the exaggerated heat accumulated in the previous days, producing a really significant drop in temperatures. The thermal descent, obviously, would take place through strong storms, storms and hailstorms.
Taking into account the disproportionate amount of energy that will be present in the Italian territory, phenomena can be expected Weather forecast really important and extreme for fresh air transit.
