UPDATE 11.55 AM. TIMES IN SICILY. Driven by Mistral currents, the thunderstorms have moved from the lower Tyrrhenian into western Sicily, passing in the late morning between Trapani and Palermo and moving towards inland areas.
SNOW IN THE EMILIAN APENNINES. While part of Emilia witnesses a rainy morning, especially between Reggio and Modena, it snows in the Apennines from an altitude of 1300m. Flakes reported in Ventasso Laghi, although without accumulation.
UPDATE 10.20 AM. INTENSE KICKBACK TARGET PUGLIA. The rains that continue to point to the medium-low Adriatic at the beginning of the week do not let up. Particularly in Puglia, the rains pushing from the Adriatic towards the coast have caused rain accumulations of up to 100mm near Barletta.
SITUATION 7.30 AM. BAD WEATHER IN PUDIA. In Apulia it continues to rain heavily in several areas, after the floods and hailstorms that affected Salento yesterday. The rains and showers continue in the Bari and Barletta area, where the rain accumulations even exceed 60 mm. Also showers in Salento, as well as in a large part of the Adriatic coast.
RAIN AND SHOWERS IN THE STRAIT. Even parts of the southern tip of Italy are dealing with sometimes heavy rain and showers, especially between Messina and Reggino where rain accumulations approach 30mm and snow falls above 1500m.
WEATHER NEXT HOURS. Toward North partly sunny with wider clearings in the Alps and higher concentrations in the northeast, where the last rains will be present in the morning along the Adriatic coasts. During the day some variability in western Piedmont, inland Liguria and the Emilian Apennines with some showers or isolated thunderstorms, snow in the Cuneo valleys above 1700 m. Toward Center lightened on the Tyrrhenian slope and in Umbria except for some variability from the afternoon in lower Lazio, associated with some showers. Unstable on the Adriatic side with more frequent rains and showers in Abruzzo, while some light spells will intervene temporarily on the Marche coast. Snow limit at 1300/1500m. Toward South already unstable in the morning on the Adriatic side with rains and showers, even intense in Puglia and with thunderstorms from the afternoon in Campania, up to the coast. Showers and storms also in Calabria during most of the day and in Sicily in the Messina area, greater variability in the rest of the island.
