The new week begins in the company of the Azores anticyclone that has spread throughout the central-southern sector of Europe, where it favors conditions of prevailing atmospheric stability, mostly sunny and hot weather in summer. Italy is also covered by the protection offered by high pressure and the skies are clear of clouds almost everywhere. Monday will continue stable and mostly sunnywith few daytime clouds on the hills, a little more frequent on the southern ones. It will be hot, especially in the center-west of the Po Valley, in inland areas of Tuscany and on the larger islands, with peaks of 35/36 °C

However, as the days go by, the conditions will gradually start to change. We will find out about this in the course of Tuesdaywhen the tail of a front that slides through north-central Europe manages to infiltrate part of northern Italy, unleashing some storm already in the morning in the eastern Alps, intensifying between afternoon and night and extending to the plains of Triveneto and eastern Lombardy, locally also strong. At the end of the day, some phenomena reach western Lombardy and eastern Piedmont, as well as sections of Emilia. Temperatures will begin to drop a few degrees in the maximum values of the Northeast, while they will not undergo significant changes in the rest of Italy. Instead, nothing in the rest of Italy, where anticyclonic stability will continue to dominate.
Wednesday the rear end of the front will infiltrate further south, involving not only northern Italy with some thunderstorms especially near the reliefs (including those in the north-west), but also the central Apennines between Tuscany, Umbria, Marche and Abruzzo, especially during the day. In the afternoon some showers not excluded up to the coasts of the middle side of the Adriatic. On the other hand, sunny weather will continue to prevail in the rest of Italy. Temperatures will drop a few degrees in the Center-North, while they will remain almost stable in the South.

thursday 29 a temporary anticyclonic promontory will determine a more stable start to the day, although a new front will approach from the North Atlantic, this time more organized than the previous ones, responsible for a progressive deterioration in the Northwest with electrical storms from the alpine areas. Some diurnal phenomena are also expected in the Apennines, in other places more stable conditions. Friday the anticyclone would seem to yield to the thrust of the North Atlantic front, with the consequent increase in instability in the North and in the central regions, especially in the Tyrrhenian. The phenomena could be locally strong and accompanied by hail in sections of the Po Valley and the north-central regions of the Tyrrhenian, with sharply falling temperatures. On the other hand, stability would continue in the rest of the central regions and in the South. For the trend of the first weekend of July Click here.
