Vasco Rossi will open his last tour in Rimini. On June 2 he will set out again from the flooded Romagna. And today in an interview with Resto del Pug he talks about his relationship with the region: «I saw the Adriatic Sea for the first time around the age of 7/8, when my aunt took me there. Even today I remember the powerful emotion I felt when I saw so much water. It sounds trivial, but I’ve never seen it before. Zocca is a vacation spot, I spent the summers there at home, in the woods with my childhood friends, who in summer were joined by those who came to us on vacation. A few years later I frequented Rimini and Riccione but in reality I never saw the sea, for me it was as if it did not exist».
Souvenirs from Rimini and Bologna
Now he is back in Rimini. He arrives “in that extraordinary and generous land that is Emilia-Romagna, recently hit by a terrible flood. But I have faith in my countrymen, we are people who never give up. I’m coming, we musicians can try to bring a little joy and that’s what we’ll do in a few days at the Rimini stadium. I can’t wait I always look forward to it, being on stage is a disease I will never recover from. This time a little more.” The next stop will be Bologna. That is your city. «I came here when I was 15 years old when I ran away from the boarding school in Modena. For me it was like New York. I attended high school and university in Bologna. I almost graduated in Bologna… Hey, not everyone knows that I have 4 exams left for my psychology degree. I was educated culturally, I did experimental theater following in the footsteps of Teatro Vivo, in ’77, it was the time of Bakunin, Ionesco, Allen Ginsberg and the barricades».
Basque and social networks
Then Vasco talks about social networks: «They are one of my favorite hobbies, not being able to have a social life, I make a ‘social’ one. When social networks arrived, from Facebook to Instagram (a little less Twitter) I finally found my ideal means of communication with the world, direct and without filters. And I also have a staff of collaborators who help me with the content, a real web editorial team under my direction. I practically invented the clippini, the next step to posts, I addressed my followers with my newscast”. At this point, he always has his phone with him: “But I don’t feel hostage because I still keep the good habit of only using it when I need it, a slave, that’s right: I can’t resist the temptation to turn it on.» film, photography».
