The new edition ofardbeg daythe worldwide celebration of all that Ardbeg stands for, held annually on the last Saturday of Islay Malt and Music Festival (Ile Feis). The event, which in 2023 will be the 3 of Junewill culminate in a series of festivities taking place at the distillery, online and with local events around the world.
Also in Italy will take place the appointment with the Ardbeg Day, the June 10 in Milan, at Spazio Bergognone 26, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.: Welcome towith ardbeghe convention of the Ardbeg Committee in which the ARDVerse will be the protagonist, the comic multiverse launched by the graphic novel Planet Ardbeg. Participants are invited to put themselves in the shoes of their favorite character, with a cosplay that pays homage to a mythical creature, a comic book character or one of the heroes of the saga.

The Distillery, as is tradition, celebrates the most important moment in its calendar of events by also launching a new and mysterious one. limited edition, fruit of one of the inexhaustible distillation experiments of Dr. Bill Lumsden, Director of Whiskey Creation: Heavy Ardbeg Steamers!
For the first time in its history, Ardbeg distilled your own whiskey without using the purifier, “responsible” for maintaining Ardbeg’s unique distinctive signature, the balance between extreme peat and floral fruitiness. Through this trick, Dr. Bill Lumsden has allowed “heavier” and wilder vapors to rise up the still during the distillation process, before being captured, matured and finally bottled. The nose gives off an intense and aromatic smoke, with sweet touches. On the palate, bittersweet waves crash against ashy charcoal dust, mint and cardamom, before clouds of dark chocolate and eucalyptus drift towards Ardbeg’s iconic balance.
The unusual distillation process and its result have been brought to life in a new graphic novel, created by acclaimed cartoonist and illustrator Dilraj Mann.. The plot follows Agent 46 (aka Jackie Thomson, Director of the Ardbeg Visitor Center and Chairman of the Committee), a fearless interplanetary detective tasked with finding the elusive Purifier and restoring Ardbeg’s signature balance. This exciting second series will be revealed precisely in conjunction with Ardbeg Day.
Distribution of the Heavy Vapors Main Release special edition will begin in Italy on May 23. Spirit Academy will be the only Italian e-retailer to continue sales, while those wishing to physically purchase the heavy steam corn release will be able to find it at Ardbeg embassies and select outlets.
