Sara Davachi is a composer and performer who, from solo works to ensembles, from acoustic to electronic instrumentation, deals with the complexities of timbral space and time, using extended durations and simple harmonic structures that emphasize subtle variations in texture, harmonic complexity, psychological phenomena – acoustics, temperament and intonation. In his use of analogue synthesizers and in his performances with pipe organs it is possible to trace aintimate and continuous exploration of resonances and spaces: the creation of a sound world whose voices emerge, stratify and dialogue in our perception.
As with all of her solo pipe organ performances, AngelicA’s, scheduled for friday may 25 in 20:30will be one single performancewhich will explore the intricacies of the historical tool of Basilica of Santa Maria dei Servicombined with reworkings of recent organ works from their latest albums, Two sisters AND antiphonals.
The proceeds from the concert will be donated to Civil Protection for the flood emergency in Emilia-Romagna.
«There is a continuum between Sarah Davachi’s work with analog synthesizers and her compositions and performances with pipe organs: a continuous exploration of resonances and spaces, both intimate and breathing, these are the words of composer Giorgio Magnanensi, who has curated the scheduled concert in Angelic A. . If we think of the organ as a protosynthesizer capable of manipulating sound waves through a variety of combinations of registers and resonant materials, we can see how Sarah’s approach fits within this apparent technological opposition in which sound is manifested through of sensitive ears. of an artist of proven musicality».
