Porsche presented its latest concept at the Goodwood Festival of Speed: it is called the Vision 357 and it is destined to remain a unique model.
There Porsche celebrates 75 years and, also to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, presents the new Vision 357 Speedster prototype, closely derived from the Vision 357 introduced at the end of January. An extreme car, with tributes to the past and with an eye on the future, which will continue to be a one-off; almost a work of art that of the German brand that, after its debut at Goodwood, will be exhibited in the United States at the Rennsport Reunion in September.
Porsche Vision 357 Speedster, this is how it is made
The new Porsche Vision 357 Speedster, which takes up the forms of the Porsche Vision 357 coupé presented a few months ago in an open version, is a tribute to the 356, but technologically it refers to the 718 GT4 e-Performance. A car, therefore, that is inspired by the past to look to the future, starting with the propulsion, obviously 100% electric with two electric motors capable of delivering a total of 800 kW (1,088 CV).

What is most striking, however, is the aesthetic aspect with the design that incorporates the Vision 357 concept, except for the absence of the roof and some other details. Compared to the coupe, the Speedster also features a lowered windshield that makes it look even more elegantY. On the right side there is a soft top like those used to be used in open sports cars, while the driver’s headrest seems to be suspended in the air thanks to the technical carbon anti-roll element.
By design, Porsche is itself inspired by the Porsche 356 of the past as demonstrated, for example, by the circular design of the headlights. For the body, however, the German manufacturer has opted for the colors Marble Gray and Metallic Grivelo Gray with some details in Miami Blue. The decoration is also characterized by the presence of the number 75, a reference to the first 75 years of Porsche history to be celebrated in 2023. To complete the tuning chosen for the concept, here are also the 20″ magnesium wheels, reminiscent of the design of the 356 A and 356 B models of the past. There are also futuristic solutions, such as the cameras used instead of mirrorsto improve aerodynamics that are not located in the doors, but later, in the fenders.
The concept offers a single seat and therefore the cockpit is all about the driver. The low driving position is typical of sports cars with, in the interior, useat n only with carbon fiber shell, the same material also used on the dashboard. The instrument cluster behind the steering wheel is housed in a transparent panel. However, there is no infotainment system that would underline, if it were still necessary, how essentiality and sportiness are the basis of the philosophy behind the birth of the car. The entire dash is finished in carbon weave, while individual controls take on the contrasting Miami Blue color used for the exterior. Simple cloth ties replace traditional door handles, a weight-saving detail borrowed from the racing environment.
