WEATHER ALERT: new NOTICE of Civil Protection, potential CLOUDS and WIND
National Meteorological Alert of Civil Protection The disturbance, which in the last few hours has affected most of the central-northern regions, will also affect the central-southern regions of the Adriatic and Campania, with scattered to widespread storms, locally also of strong intensity.
Based on available forecasts, the Department of Civil Protection in agreement with the regions involved – which are responsible for activating the civil protection systems in the territories involved – issued a severe weather warning. Meteorological phenomena, which impact the various areas of the country, can determine hydrogeological and hydraulic criticalities that are reported, in a national summary, in the national criticality and alert bulletin that can be consulted on the Department’s website (www.protezionecivile .gov.it ).
The alert provides from the early hours of Saturday July 1, Precipitation: – scattered to widespread, mainly showers or thunderstorms, especially in the early hours of the day, on the Tyrrhenian slopes of Campania, with generally moderate cumulative amounts; – scattered, also showers or thunderstorms, in the eastern pre-alpine sectors of Lombardy, Trentino Alto Adige, Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia, eastern sectors of Emilia-Romagna, northern and eastern sectors of Tuscany, Umbria, Marche, eastern and southern sectors of Lazio , eastern slopes of Abruzzo, coastal sector of Molise, northern sector of Gargano and central-southern Apulia, with punctually moderate accumulated quantities; – isolated, also of an inverse or temporal nature, on the remaining sectors of eastern Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany, Lazio, Abruzzo, Molise and Campania and on reliefs of Liguria, Tyrrhenian and Ionian sectors of Basilicata, Tyrrhenian sectors of Calabria, reliefs of northeastern Sicily and the western slope of central-northern Sardinia, with generally low accumulated quantities.
Based on the expected phenomena, an orange alert was issued for Saturday July 1 due to the risk of storms and hydrogeological risk in Tuscany, a yellow alert in Marche, Umbria, Lazio, Molise, Campania and in sectors of Trentino Alto Adige, Veneto, Emilia – Romagna, Abruzzo, Apulia.
