A new case similar to the one in Milan, this time in Livorno, immortalized in a video that has gone viral shows a stop on the street by two carabinieri: one of the two kicks the boy already blocked in the face by your colleague.

From what has been reconstructed at the moment, the young man, originally from North Africa, had carried out a robbery in a shopping center in Livorno before being arrested by the carabinieri. He boy had escaped with electronic material after threatening a security guard. HE Carabineros, who received the request for help, intervened and located him. One of the two soldiers ran after him and caught him: during these phases he would have been beaten. That is why he was later arrested on charges of resisting a public official and improper theft.
At that moment the second soldier intervened, later filmed in the video where the kick to the face is documented. The soldiers chased him, one of them stopped him on the ground, blocking him: one of the two kicks the boy in the face already blocked by his colleague. The two carabinieri repeat the word “Stop” several times to the young man while he is on the ground. While handcuffed and a soldier holding him by the neck, the young man yelled, “My leg hurts.” And then: “People look at me, so they take pictures of me.”
The Army’s response
The Arma dei Carabinieri, questioned about the video showing violence during a street stop operated by two carabinieri in Livorno, affirms that “Such conduct is absolutely not in line with our values. The soldier’s conduct will be judged immediately with the utmost rigor in all aspects, from instant transfer to a non-operational assignment».

He also intervenes in the case. the Codacons with a complaint before the Public Ministry in which he asks to investigate the soldier involved in the crimes of beatings and personal injuries. “Once again we are faced with a shameful episode, completely unworthy of a civilized country – explains President Carlo Rienzi -. brutality with which the police officer attacked the child also represents a danger on the social front, because the images that have circulated on the web risk having enormous harmful power, inciting and pushing young people to violence”.
“We have decided to file a complaint with the Livorno Prosecutor’s Office, requesting an investigation into possible crimes of beatings and personal injuries, and obviously the police officer responsible for the act must not only be suspended from service, but but he fired on the spot, initiating the due reparation actions, also considering the damage to the image suffered by the Weapon”, concludes Rienzi
