There will be the signature of Infratech Consorzio Stabile on all the major works, those considered the most strategic, that are ready to be built in the city. The same Napolitano Consortium that, as a consortium, was awarded the works for the Sports Pavilion and that will be in charge of the construction of the “Cernicchiara node”, in fact, has now also been awarded the works for Area 2 (from the Nautica Polo to the mouth of the Irno river) of the project for the protection, redevelopment of the coastline and regeneration of beaches. The Infratech Consortium also won this contract thanks to a huge reduction of 26.41% on the starting price for a total of 34 million 374 thousand euros.
From an economic point of view, in fact, for the creation of this part of the coastal protection and beach regeneration project – prepared by the archistar manuel ruisanchez – A total investment of 55,712,189 euros had been planned, an expense that was later reduced during the bidding phase since, as stated in the specifications, “it was decided to proceed in stages, arranging the award only of the works specifically identified (for the amount of 38,246,135.55 with the option of entrusting the execution of the residual works to the same company, whose works will be the subject of any additional contract). Therefore, the planned interventions at sea and for the extension of the beach will surely proceed, but there are still a series of other works that will have to be carried out later on land. Regarding the calendar, the works are expected to be completed in the spring of 2025. The start of these interventions was scheduled for last October but setbacks were not lacking. The high prices caused by the international crisis, in fact, “forced” the designers to review the design and, above all, the funds necessary to complete this area.
Meanwhile, the composition of the construction management regarding Area 2 has also been defined. Therefore, the construction manager, responsible for the Environment sector, will be included in the pool. Maria Giordano, which will be supported by an operations manager with a geologist qualification and an operations manager with an engineering qualification. The members of the construction management office, therefore, must have “as an essential requirement for the election of the required figures – it is specified in the determinations – the possession of a professional curriculum from which similar experiences are deduced, by type and importance ”. , to the activities linked to the interventions foreseen by the project. The second segment into which the project to revolutionize the city’s waterfront is divided extends from Piazza della Concordia to the Nautical Pole, including the mouth of the Irno river and the small port of Pastena for 2,500 meters. For this area, the extension of the beach is planned -for an average advance of about 45 meters from the shore- with artificial feeding protected by five underwater reefs parallel to the coast of variable lengths between 150 and 350 meters. In order to dissipate the energy of the wave breaking on the coast, the barriers will be placed at a distance of 150 meters from the coastline. We thus reached a decisive turning point for this part of the global coastal redevelopment and protection project, which also risked being “frozen” awaiting regional funds, which nevertheless arrived despite great volatility. of the prices of the materials that lead to the consequent reduction of the costs of the contracts.
