The first night without her, who is in prison in Florence serving a sentence since yesterday (The Supreme Court rejected the last appeal three days ago).
The woman is 36 years old, he is 35. He will have to take care of two children alone, the 15-year-old of whom he is the biological father and the 5-year-old of whom he claims paternity. “But for me there is no difference, they are my children,” she immediately clarifies.
How do you feel now that prison has arrived for your wife?
«Honestly, last night was hard, it was the first without her. We thought we were prepared, but experiencing it is different. Yesterday the little one stayed with me, but the big one wanted to stay with his grandparents: he wanted to keep his mind occupied in some way.”
Let’s imagine that the situation is quite complicated for him, how do you think he is living these days?
«He is quite closed, it is difficult to get out of him what he really thinks. I like to think that he is a bit like me and that is why I like to know his reserved reactions. He had started a path with a psychologist but lately it is difficult to drag him there… he is a teenager.”
He’s 15 years old, rumors are flying: have you ever been afraid of being made fun of?
«When this started he was 11 years old, he was in secondary school, we were terrified, we did everything, even with directors and teachers, to protect him. And I must say that he was lucky to associate with intelligent people. Now he is in high school, I don’t know what to say, I hope this danger will decrease over time.”
Has your youngest child’s biological father ever come to visit you again?
«No, never, honestly we have not had any contact since the Court of Appeal ruling. But the night before last, some of his relatives were in front of his house…”
«It was the day of the final sentence. Across the street was the boy’s father: he wanted to see my wife go to prison.”
“Based on the experience of first and second degree sentences: every night someone came to the house to see if they were taking her.”
“No. In addition to our family, there is a circle of close people who support us.”
Does your youngest son also follow a psychological path?
«We did a preparation course with him, we entrusted ourselves to a specialist. We hope that he can give you a solid foundation for understanding in the future.”
What did you and your wife say to each other before he went to prison?
«We said a lot of things to each other the night before and we said goodbye right there (he gets emotional, ed). I already called her yesterday to arrange an interview with her, but she was not registered yet. I’ll try again today.”

«I don’t like to be seen as someone who is not to blame, in the past I also made mistakes. We talked after the scandal, as is done between civilized people. Everything can be saved if it is analyzed. “We’ve been together since we were young, we’ve been through a lot.”
