In summary, it is the content of two ordinances issued by the Municipality for the management of viability during the 399th edition of the Festino. The provisions of the Office of Sustainable Mobility refer to the “mother” ordinance of July 5, 2017, but add more measures and provide for the closure to cars from July 17 to 14.
What does the “mother” ordinance provide?
From 2:00 p.m. on July 14 to 03:00 a.m. on July 15, the following closures will take place. The prohibitions refer to: piazza della Vittoria, the entire section of the upstream side of the square, in the extension of via Cadorna and corso Vittorio Emanuele, including parking with forced removal, both sides; via Cadorna, with the obligation to turn left towards via del Bastione; via Tiro a Segno, section of via Archirafi-corso dei Mille, with traffic in one direction only in the direction of corso dei Mille; via dello Spasimo, section between via Santa Teresa, piazza della Vittoria allo Spasimo and via Evola, with traffic in one direction only upstream and without forced exit parking, on both sides; Corso Calatafimi, section between Corso Alberto Amedeo and vicolo a Porta Nuova: establishment of the parking ban with forced removal on both sides from 2:00 p.m. on July 13 to 12:00 p.m. on July 15, 2022.

The way to the port
The ordinance also suggests a route for vehicles going to port shipments (including heavy vehicles). Notwithstanding the current prohibitions, it will be possible to drive on the route via Salvatore Cappello, corso dei Mille, via Lincoln, via Roma, via Cavour, the port.

The ordinance issued on July 7, in addition to the provisions, establishes: prohibition of parking on the roadway by the sea of the Foro Umberto I, in the section of piazza Tumminello (Father Messina Institute) up to the traffic light of piazza Kalsa, from today until 00 July 12; It is forbidden to park on the road on the sea side of the Foro Umberto I, in the section between the traffic light in Piazza Kalsa and via Cala from 11 July to 12 July 12. From July 9 to 13 and until the need ceases, the entire section will be closed to cars and motorcycles: Corso Vittorio Emanuele; via Butera, complete section; The suspension of the Ztl is also expected from July 14 to July 6, 16. From 10:00 p.m. on July 13 to 12:00 p.m. on July 15, the circulation of all scooters and bicycles will stop at the perimeter of the historic center. Rental companies must pick up the vehicles before 10:00 p.m. on July 13.
