Eyes pointing to the sky in the next few hours as the arrival of a true storm is expected in some regions with phenomena that will locally take on an extremely intense character.
UPDATE 23:10 – Bad weather moves towards Veneto: firstly the Brescia area and Lake Garda are involved, with phenomena that extend towards the Veronese area. Strong gusts of wind and a true electrical storm are reported, also accompanied by hail.
UPDATE 22:15 – The supercell that hit Milan has moved towards Bergamo and is soon preparing to involve the province of Brescia as well. Pay attention!
UPDATE 22:00 – Some stunning images from today’s second supercell in Milan. The images also show an attempted tornado that occurred just east of the city of Milan.
UPDATE 21:00 – New supercell storms are affecting Lombardy with the participation of the provinces of Varese, Como, Lecco and Milan. Soon these phenomena will move towards Monza and Brianza and the province of Bergamo. Watch out for big hail. Other phenomena are taking place in Trentino Alto Adige and Friuli Venezia Giulia.
UPDATE 19:00 – The strong storm that struck the Milan area and the province of Monza-Brianza also claimed a victim. One woman was struck by a large branch, which struck her as she was walking down the road. It happened via Braille in Lissone.UPDATE 18:30 – The storm phase continues over the northern Italian regions: transiting storms are still expected over the Alps and locally also over several areas of Valpadana at the beginning of the night. Currently, the most intense phenomena are occurring in northern Piedmont, Upper Lombardy and Trentino Alto Adige.
UPDATE 17:00 – Storms reach the Triveneto area, hail is reported. At the same time, new storm cells are also emerging in the Northwest. In the south, however, it is a record hot day. Today it reached +47.8°C in Syracuse, +46° in Palermo, +46.4° in Olbia and +47° in Capo San Lorenzo.
UPDATE 15:30 – Very strong storms moving towards the Triveneto. Serious damage at the Monza station.
UPDATE 2:30 PM – First strong storms with hail between Piedmont and Lombardy. Possible supercell between Biella and Novara where even medium-large hail is reported. Heat record at the same time in the extreme south, peaks of 46°C in Palermo (may be an absolute heat record)
The map that we offer below shows the precipitation forecast for the day of tuesday july 25. Pay attention to the colored areas of fuchsia and of dark blue where the cumulus rain awaits us between 40 and 70mm.
On the contrary, the atmosphere in the rest of the country will continue to be decidedly calmer, where the outstanding element will be mainly the heat which will also be intense in the South and especially in the Larger Islands where the mercury columns will remain, at least for a few more hours, always at decidedly high values.
