TO group of cyclists was violently run over by Folimpopoli, in the province of Forlì-Cesena, from a car that caused them to fall down an embankment. To get the worst 57 years whose conditions immediately appeared serious and who subsequently lost his life in the hospital.
Car hits cyclists
The accident occurred on the morning of Saturday, November 11, 2023 near the village of Selbagnone, in Forlimpopoli. Here, shortly after 11:30, a group of five cyclists were riding down the street when a car hit them completely.
The group ended up inside an embankment on the side of the road, an escape that proved fatal for one of them. A team of firefighters from Forlì arrived at the scene and worked together with health personnel, who intervened with 3 ambulances and two helicopters.
A 57-year-old man died
The conditions of the wounded immediately appeared extremely serious, particularly that of one of them. A 57-year-old man who was rushed to Bufalini of Cesena.
The man, originally from Porto Fuori, in the Ravenna area, arrived at the center in critical condition and unfortunately the doctors could not do anything to save his life. The 57-year-old man is died at the trauma center by Bufalini.
The dynamics of the accident.
In addition to the rescue operations, the Local Police of the Union of Municipalities of Romagna Forlì and the Carabinieri of Meldola also intervened at the scene and closed the road to allow rescue operations. Soon the road was passable and traffic was reopened in the early afternoon.
At the wheel of the car, a Peugeot 2008, was a 27-year-old young man who, as we learned, I would have lost control of the car. From the first findings, in fact, it seems that the young man lost control of the car and invaded the opposite road where, meanwhile, the group of cyclists was arriving. The impact was violent and unfortunately the outcome was fatal for one of them.
However, the condition of another of the cyclists, a 70-year-old man who was injured but not seriously, was less serious.
